Introduction
Welcome to the Amber Valley Classic Car Club.
We are a friendly car club based in the Amber Valley region of Derbyshire.
We have almost 100 members in the club with the current membership drawn from a wide range of ages, interests and occupations. The uniting factor is our enjoyment in owning and driving classic cars.
Our members interests are cars of all makes and models, both classic and modern classic and the enjoyment of owning, and participating in various car shows and events in Derbyshire and beyond.
What is a "Classic Car" and will my car be accepted?
As far as our club is concerned, it is a car treasured because it has become special by virtue of its age, sentimental value or rarity. There is no minimum age restriction in the club and American/modern classics are welcomed.
The club members have a variety of cars covering an age range of 80+ years from the 1920's up to modern classics.
Club History & Events
Our club began with 4 founder members in 1988 at The Gate Inn, Brinsley. During the following years we met at several different hostelries in the area - and from July 2016 meetings are at The Excavator, Buckland Hollow.
Most weekends from March to October you can find club members at one of the many classic shows or at an ad-Hoc gathering at a local pub. Where possible, we take an event shelter to static events- hopefully to use as a sunshade.
We also hold regular members only "coffee mornings" at different venues each month. This gives our members a chance to meet informally, have breakfast and catch up with each other socially, outside of car specific events.
Many Amber Valley members are also members of the Great British Car Club based at Ambergate and we have a reciprocal agreement between the clubs by supporting each other.
As a result of this agreement We promote "The Great British Car Journey" at car shows and events by displaying their flags alongside ours and hand out literature for GBCJ.
